Project Life Weeks 45-52

Happy New Year!
Well I did it, I managed to take a picture a day for a whole year! I'm not sure if I'm going to do it again this year, but I'm thinking about doing project life a different way. I guess I'll just have to see what 2012 brings. Below are the remainder of my pictures from 2011. Wishing everyone the best for 2012!

Project Life - Weeks 37-44

Okay friends... I'm back! Did you miss me?
I know it's been a LONG time since my last post, but I'm going to try very hard to get back on track and keep up with my blogging each week. Below are the pictures for quite a few weeks, I hope you enjoy them. I'm glad to be back!

I'm sewing!! Mom wasn't able to sew after her surgery
and she needed me to sew a shirt for her, so she
could put it on.

I'm on pager this week for work, well the next
couple weeks. I usually take it once a month for
a couple weeks at a time.

My new vest from Abercrombie arrived today! My
favourite part is that it's furry inside.

Another new TNA sweatshirt...

This was our last Thursday in this building for work. We
sold the building and are moving this week.

Project Life - Week 36

This is one of the flowers that the neighbour brought
over for mom. We aren't sure what they are, but they
are very pretty.

I've been meaning to read this book for a while.
I have to finish one other one before I get to this one. Now,
if I could only get motivated to do so!

Arianna is getting so big! I've haven't been to visit in
a while, so I must make some time!

This is where I go every Saturday. This last saturday, marked
one year since I've been back and doing Weight Watchers.
I attend the meeting every saturday morning. I always
leave feeling motivated for the week because of our
leader.

Project Life - Weeks 34 & 35

Here we are again... The end of another month. I can't believe it's September already! I always feel like September is the start of a new year, maybe that's from school, I'm not sure. Here are the last two weeks of summer in pictures. It certainly did go fast!!! Enjoy!

Yum! I haven't had this snack in a while. It's pudding,
a vitamuffin, strawberries and some cool whip.
It's super delicious and only 6 points!

Out for some Thai food.

A friend just gave me a bunch of songs, I was loading
them into my iTunes, and then onto my phone.

My new iPhone case! It actually didn't fit right
but the company is sending me a new piece for it, and it
will be just right.

My alarm clock. I wake up every morning to a new song.

Mom is going in for surgery next week for her shoulder,
she has to wear this contraption after, so she was
trying it out.

mmmmmm sushi. I believe this one was called the
excellent roll. And it was EXCELLENT!

I went to the Peach festival today. I had never been.
I enjoyed a peach crepe there and brought these peaches home.

I was having a stressful day at work and I have been craving
a Big Mac for quite sometime. So I decided today was the day.
BUT, I cut it in half and gave the other half away before
I ate my half. So I was able to satisfy my craving without
going overboard!

Mom made a peach pie with the peaches I brought home.

When I lay in my bed, this is what I see on my night table.

Mom went in for her surgery today. I took the day off
and went with my dad to the hospital to wait for mom.
The dr said everything went really well. We were at
the hospital for most of the day.

I went for drinks on the patio with Paula. This was
my view.

Where has the summer gone, I can't believe it's already almost the end of August! I've been keeping up with my blog posts, but I haven't been linking up lately with The Mom Creative. I will link up this week and hope to check out everyone else's week. Enjoy and don't forget to leave me a comment.

I got my nails done. I love how they look when they
are freshly done!

Dad bought a Kobo today. He's been reading non stop!

Met Paula at Indigo for some Starbucks.

Mmmm Ice Cream!!! This little bar is made with
probiotic yogurt with a chocolate covering.
It's very tasty and they are only 2 points!!!!

There was only one white cloud in the whole sky.

Project Life - Week 31 & 32

Another two weeks have gone by. Seems like this is my new routine, to post two weeks at a time. I guess that shows how busy I've been.
so... here it is, my last two weeks!

A day at the pool. Here's Paula. We've been hanging out a
lot more lately, she's a great friend!

Catching up on my PL. Printing pictures from the
last month. It look a couple hours to do!

I bought a hair straightener. I'm still getting used to it,
but I do like it. I think it will take me a while
to get the hang of it.

My first TNA sweatshirt, and I got it on sale!

glass behind the cupcakes. I only ate half of each
I did share!

My Weight Watchers magazine finally arrived today!
Just one more tool to keep me on track and to stay on
goal. Whatever helps right?!

Instead of a self portrait today, I decided to take a picture
of an old picture of me. Here I am after strawberry picking.
My mom and I used to go every summer. She's got this
picture hanging on the side of our fridge.

I finally got to spend the day with my BFF. It has been
a while since we hung out. We decided to scrapbook, and
here is Billie, her cat, wanting to scrapbook with us!
She liked the scissors the best, she kept rubbing her face
against them.

Project Life - Week 27 & 28

I'm back, I missed a week of blogging, but don't really have an exciting story why, I wasn't on vacation and nothing happened, I just ran out of time to post my week. So I'm posting two weeks here. It's been really busy, I guess that's just the time of year, everyone wants to be outside while the weather is good. We have to make the most of it right!? It doesn't last long for us here in Canada!!!

My Niece got her driver's license! She's just learning,
so someone has to be in the car with her.

When the bananas get like this, I say they are dirty.
I won't eat the dirty bananas!!!

I picked up this book a couple weeks ago, and I haven't
had a chance to really read it yet. Hopefully I'll get to
do that soon.

Sad day today, a friend of mine passed away.
I'm working on a "movie/slide show" of her life, she
had asked me to do this so it could be shown at her
Celebration of Life.

Mom and Dad were on vacation in Hampton Beach,
Mom sent me this picture from her iPad, while
they were sitting on their balcony.

Got Gas today... it's kinda expensive!!!

I'm sitting here at Memories Manor, updating my blog post, just before it's time to leave. As always we had lots of laughs and tons of fun! We are pretty much half way through the year and I'm still going strong with my POTD!

Project Life - Week 24

24 weeks in and I'm still going strong! I have to say that now taking a picture a day has become a habit and not something I think about any more. I always have a camera with me, whether it's my DSLR, my small point and shoot or just my iPhone. I've been using my iPhone the most, it's convenient and the pictures come out great! I have a feeling that this is something that I will continue to do.

I did the Weight Watchers Walk it Challenge, we
walked 5K. Here we are after the walk was done. It
wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be.

Pedicure! I tried the new crackle by OPI. I love how
it turned out.

This chipmunk keeps going in the planter that
is attached to our house. I'm not sure if he lives in there
or if he's just hiding his food there. He's just hangin out!

I went to my sister's for dinner, and had enough
points to have a drink. It was also the Stanley Cup
playoffs and Boston beat Vancouver.

Thursday night summer hockey. The game was
early enough for me to go...lol

The weather forecast says it's going to be nice for a couple
days, so we took the doors off my Jeep. At first it
was strange to drive without doors, but I love it! I wish
I could leave it like this for the rest of the summer!

Project Life - Week 23

Another week flew by... I don't know where the time goes!

I arrived at my sister's house. He's saying
"I see you TeeTee, come give me a treat please!"

Went to Wal-mart to get a few snacks for work.
All of the snacks I got are 3 points+ or less.

This is one of my favourite paintings. She hangs in my
room. I didn't paint her and I don't know who the artist
is, but I love this little Angel.

Today was the first time I put the top on my Jeep
all the way down. It wasn't hard to do. I wasn't sure
I did it right at first, but there really
isn't a wrong way to do it. Next I'll have to take the
doors off!

These guys were doing scissor lift training at the roofing
place next door to my office. It provided me with
some entertainment for the morning.

Got my hair highlighted today, I'm pretty happy with
how it turned out!

So I've had these capris for over 5 years, every year I
try them on and stuff myself into them like a sausage,
well this year, they fit again! I'm so happy!!!

Bought a few more things at the store... I'm a shopaholic - LOL

Some new face wash that was recommended to my by a friend
so far I'm liking it, and it's working pretty good.

Week 20 was quite a rainy week... We were lucky to see some sun the last couple days, hopefully that means summer is on it's way!

I tried a new restaurant in town called "Local"
The food was awesome, and I just couldn't pass
up dessert!

My new Coach purse... I love it!

Today was the 21st anniversary of my Nanny's death :(
Here is a little poem I found:

If flowers grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Nanny's hands and tell her they are from me,
Tell her that I love her and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek and hold her for a while.

It's been raining for days here...
all the birds have been loving it, I tried to get their
picture but they all few away except one!

Someone found this "baby bump" that was part of a
halloween costume at work. So my friend and I
decided it should be my picture of the day. We had
a ton of laughs with "the belly"

Arianna came to visit me at work today. She's the cutest
helper I could ask for! I could just eat her up!

Finally, the sun came out! A day spent by the pool,
and in the sun, with a few drinks. What a great day!

Project Life - Week 19

19 weeks and counting! I'm amazed that I've been able to keep up! I'm a little behind in putting the photos in my Project Life album, but I was able to work on it a little this weekend. I have 5 weeks to put in and journal, which I should be able to accomplish in no time. Don't forget to check out http://www.themomcreative.com/ for Project Life Tuesday's. I love to see what everyone else is doing. I have a few favourites that I stop by every week. It helps to stay on track and motivated, plus sometimes there are some great ideas, and I always think I want to try that too! Lately I've been taking most of my pictures with my iPhone. I got a new app called Camera+, you can take the picture and edit it right on the phone, there are lots of cool effects, which you will see in some of my pictures this week.

Project Life - Week 18

Well it's the start of May, the grass is getting green, the trees are starting to bud... Looks like spring may have finally started to arrive. Here's my week 18...Enjoy!

We put the soft top on the Jeep today... I can't wait
for summer!

Long story... but this came to me today... yes via a police
officer...

And she's crawling, thanks to my friend for sending me
these pics of her little one. She's too cute!!

Went to Apple today - it wasn't for me, mom's mother's day
gift is inside!

Kinda had to be there, but had some laughs with a friend
today... We always have good fun together!

My Niece's prom was today - I got to go take a few
pictures at the before party. Isn't she so pretty?!

National Scrapbook day at Two Scrapbook Friends,
This was our 2nd Friendaversary with these ladies. We
always have fun and lots of laughs when we get together. I'm
so glad we all have become good friends!

So another week has gone by and here I am sitting at my computer getting ready to post all my pictures.
I'm definitely ready for some summer! The weather is getting nicer, no snow, but lots of rain! I'm ready for the sunshiney days and riding around with the top off my Jeep!

Project Life - Week 15

I'm a little late posting my week, but here it is... better late than never right!!!

Last game of the season. Championship game, and they WON!

My first book from shutterfly. I hadn't done anything
with my pictures from Europe so I decided to try
out a shutterfly book. I love how it turned out!!!

Just an ordinary day, I love the colour of the sky.

This is where I sleep, I love my bed! I always say it's
calling my name, and that night it was for sure!

Harley hates when I take his picture, he won't even look at
my camera, or phone when I have it in my hand.

Arianna came to visit me at work today, what a nice
treat. Isn't she just too cute!!!

Ladies Shopping weekend in Buffalo! Think we bought
enough stuff????

Project Life - Week 14

well, here we are again, another busy week gone by!

Enjoy!!!

I spent the day watching my brand new TV!!!

My sister cut her husband's hair. She thought the razor
said #3, but it was really a #1, it was the funniest thing.
She had to cut it pretty short to make it look normal!

I used to do some folk art painting, here is one of my pieces
This one is made from scrapbook paper and paint. I really
love how she turned out. It's been a while since I painted
maybe one day I'll get back to it again.

My niece got her braces off today! YAY!!!!

Project Life - Week 13

what a whirlwind this week was, I think this is the first week I wasn't diligent about taking pictures. But I still got them all!! It seems like the weeks are just flying by now! I hope I can keep up!

Here's a peak into my week, enjoy ;)

Went to Costco with my sister and niece, this is what
we came out with... good thing it was for the
Curling Club and not for us!

Went to Red Lobster and I had every intention of
taking a picture of my yummy dinner and forgot,
by the time I remembered, this crumb was all that was
left on the table!

Went to the movies today, saw Limitless, it was a good one!

Self Portrait of my new hair. The cut is the same, I just
lightened it up a bit.

Pasta Night at the Curling Club, it was a Cancer Fundraiser
we had a great time, with good friends as usual.

Scrapbooking at 2SF today, we celebrated Kelly's bday a
little early. Love it!!

Project Life - Week 12

3 months gone already... that seems to crazy to say! It sometimes doesn't feel like it, as we still have winter weather here and everyone is just dreaming of summer!

Project Life - Week 10

10 weeks in and I'm still going strong! I have to admit when I first decided to do this I wasn't sure I'd be able to do a picture a day, but I am, and I'm loving it! Enjoy this weeks pictures :)

Scrapbook Layouts

Since I've been doing Project Life I haven't been posting many of my scrapbook layouts, so I thought it was time to show you a few I have done over the past couple weekends. I used sketches for all of them by Alison Davis from Scrapbook Generation. So... here they are, I hope you like them!

This one is a kit from Two Scrapbook Friends, they did a class out of a layout that Carolyn created and I loved it so much that I had to order a kit. There is a LOT of sewing, but it's worth it! I really like how it turned out - Thanks Carolyn!!!

This one is of my trip to Montreal, I like how this one turned out, I wasn't sure at first, but I LOVE the word "journey" I picked it up while I was at the CHA Crop on Saturday. I love love love prima!!

Here is one I did of Josh's house league hockey. It's another one for his album.

And this one is of some of my scrapbooking friends - I believe this was the summer crop at 2SF, and as usual we are being rowdy!!!

Okay so I'm just about to post this, and I notice I spelled Scrapbook wrong! I'll have to go back and fix this one, but I think it's funny that no one else noticed... I'm glad I noticed now so at least I can fix it up!

I'm looking forward to doing some more layouts soon :)

I did my self portrait on Thursday this week, I didn't know
which one to choose so I'm adding them both. After posting
on facebook though, the consensus was the one with my
hair down.

Before hockey on friday night, my sister and nephew came
in to drop something off. So I asked my sister to take
a picture of my nephew and I together. One of my
favourite people <3

Project Life - Week 6

Here I am again, another week gone by...

I've seen some pretty great blogs through this and I'm glad I have been participating. I usually post on Sunday's so I just link my Sunday's post on Tuesday's. It's been really great to see what other people have been doing and how their Project Life has been turning out.

So... here's my week in pictures!

This is what I did ALL day. I watched TV and stayed in my
PJ's. I love when I can do that!

My Slippers! I wear them in the house all the time
in the winter, sometimes I even wish I could wear
them everywhere!

Got gas today... I hate doing this in the winter!

Dinner with the Ladies. We went to Montana's.
As always we had a great time. We try to do one
dinner per month, hopefully we can keep at it.

One of the ladies gave us flowers for Valentines day!
It was soooo nice of her.

Mom and Dad leaving for their vacation. They are going
on their first ever cruise! I'm sure they are enjoying
themselves.

At house league hockey. I took this with my point and
shoot, that's why it's not as clear. But it's everyday life!

This week I hit a milestone at Weight Watchers.
I got to my 10%, which means I've lost 10% of myself!
I was so happy and I really do feel a lot better!

Project Life - Week 5

Week 5 was a busy week! There are lots of pictures this week, enjoy!

Some scanning I was doing for a slide show that I'm doing
for a friend.

At the Leaf game! Paula got tickets from work and was
nice enough to ask me to go. They were Platinum seats
The Leafs played the Florida Panthers, the game went into
overtime and then a shootout, Leafs win one!

This is how close we were!

All week the forecasters had been telling us there was a
snow storm coming. Well here it is. We didn't get as much
as they thought, but I think we got about 20cm.

While I was at work, I asked my mom to take some pictures for me, since when I get home it's dark outside and you wouldn't be able to see so well.

My iPhone came! I was sooo happy. I had ordered it
the day before and they told me it would be 7-8
business days. I was really surprised when I opened the
box and my phone was in it. So far I love it!

My Mom made me this camera strap, I had been looking
at them and she said she could make one. I love it!
The fleece will be nice and warm at the rink!

Project Life - Week 4

Hi,
I can't believe it's 4 weeks for Project life, I guess time does fly!
Here are the pictures from my week:

My DSLR camera, I love, love, love it! I don't take it
everywhere, but I do take it to hockey and special occasions.

My new photography book that arrived from Chapters today.
I can't wait to have a read and learn some new techniques!

Project Life - Week 2

Hi everyone, here is my week in pictures. I'm really having a lot of fun taking a picture a day. It's actually a LOT easier than I thought it would be. I haven't had any trouble trying to think of what picture to take or forget to take a picture. At least not yet anyway, I guess we are only on week 2! I set up my album, and I love how it's turning out. I've already got my first two weeks in it! My Plan is do put my week in on Saturday's or Sundays. Then I don't get behind.

The crop at Two Scrapbook Friends was such a good time! It was a PJ party and we played "scrap or dare" the rules were you had to show a scrapbook item that was on the paper you chose or do the dare. Well we all decided it was more fun to do the dare, so mine was... Show a scrapbook magazine or do The Chicken Dance! So I had to get up and do the chicken dance, it was great fun!!!

Project Life

I've decided this year to do Becky Higgins' Project Life. Basically I take a picture a day for 365 days and I have a finished album at the end of the year. It's a great way to document a year in my life. But you don't have to do a picture a day for a year, you can do a few pictures a month or even just a few events over the year, that's the best part about her project life, you can use it how it best suits you! So I decided that I was going to try the picture a day. It's a good way for me to keep up with my photography skills, photo editing and my blog posting as well!
I can't wait to get my project life album, it should be here on Tuesday! I can't wait to set it all up and put my first week in!!!
Here is my week in pictures.

every morning to see what the weather is like

Day 5: I thought I was going to have to take the car in
for service. Turns out it's ok.

Day 6: Helped set up the Blu ray. For some reason it wouldn't
go wireless, so we finally wired it... lol there is a wire
across the room... for now anyway!

Day 7: First "self portrait." I'm going to take a
self portrait once a week to see how I change throughout
the year. Plus that's 52 less photo's!

Day 8: This is where I spend my Saturday mornings,
getting a little motivation to stay on track for the week!

Last week my mom and I ventured to Montreal... we stayed with my mom's sister and had a great time!
We left on Tuesday, bright and early, we were up at 4:30am to catch the 6am train to Toronto and then boarded the Montreal bound train from there. I wasn't sure how the train ride would be, considering my motion sickness, but it was great! Via has wifi on their trains so I was able to watch movies, surf the net and check my emails on the way. It sure made the time pass quicker! We arrived in Montreal at noon on Tuesday and my Aunt and Uncle were waiting at the station for us. Well, what's the first thing you do when you get to Montreal? Go for a smoked meat sandwich of course! Needless to say it was very delicious. After that we did some touring around and then back to their house for the night.
Wednesday we went to Old Montreal, we also visited a couple neighbourhoods that my mom lived in when she was a child. We also made a trip to St. Joseph's Oratory. Brother Andre was just made a Saint, so it was quite busy there, my mom and I wandered around there for a little while. Thursday we went up to the Laurentians, it was a bit of a drive, but very nice up there. The little towns are quite cute. Friday we went for crepes and then to the flea market where my uncle has a booth. Before we knew it, it was time to board the train for Toronto! I can't believe how quickly the week went!
My mom and I had a great time and are so thankful to my Aunt and Uncle for driving us around all week and being the best tour guides!

ps. I'm back on track with my weight watchers this week, and hoping Saturday at the scale isn't that scary!

2SF Retreat Weekend

I'm back from another fabulous retreat weekend hosted by Two Scrapbook Friends. As always we had a great time with them. I even managed to get a few layouts done too!! I have posted a few for you below. I also did two kits and a card kit, so it was a very productive weekend all around.

Tomorrow I'm off to Montreal! I'll post some pictures during the week if I can!

It took me most of the day to do this mosaic of Niagara Falls, but I love the way it turned out!

This one, my fabulous friend Sam cut all the squares out for me when she was doing her layout, so all I had to do was organize them, and put my layout together! Thanks Sam!!!

Well, I'm still here! It's just been a while since I posted... Things have been busy and I'm not really sure how it's almost November already!!

The rest of my summer flew by, with pool parties, hockey tryouts and of course a little scrapbooking! September came and went quickly with many exhibition hockey games. And in all of that my nephew decided the Rep team he was playing on wasn't for him, so he decided to take a step away from it and went to house league and is now in tryouts for his high school team. It was a tough decision for him, but we think he made the right one. He's having a blast on his house league team, he's scored 4 goals in the last two games! October started with a trip to the spa...aaahhhh :) My sister and I decided to surprise my niece for her 16th birthday. We all had a great time, we went to a spa in Woodstock, and stayed the night at a nearby hotel. But I didn't get any pictures... how terrible is that! We will just have to remember it, I won't be able to scrapbook it. I will be ending October in a great way, Sam and I are going to the 2SF fall retreat, I'm really looking forward to it, I haven't had much of a chance to scrap lately, so I'm hoping to get a few layouts done next weekend... now what to pack? My guess is that I'll just bring almost everything! After that, my mom and I are going to visit my Aunt in Montreal for a few days, we are taking the train there, and I'm pretty excited as I've never taken the train long distance before. Plus, the drive to Montreal isn't very exciting! This way I will get to relax as someone else does the driving!

I've also gone back to weight watchers, it was a tough decision but I'm very happy I decided to go back. I've lost 7lbs so far (let's hope I can keep it off, after the retreat and a trip to Montreal!) and I feel better, and it really hasn't been that hard this time to keep on track! And if I do gain after my two trips, I'll just get right back to it after I'm home, no sense in worrying about it, we all have to live a little!!

Vacation = Fun!

Don't you find that vacations always go so fast?!

The week before last I went on vacation with my sister, her family and a few other families from Josh's hockey team. We rented a cottage on Balsam Lake. It was very nice, right on the water, a nice dock, a grass area to sit on, a fire pit and it was big enough for all 15 of us! We had a FANTASTIC time! We rented a boat so that some people could fish (a lot of fish were caught, even a creyfish!), and so that we could go out on the water when we wanted to. The lake is very nice and we even found a beach! We also found a skeleton in the middle of the lake (the picture is below) that was close to a trailor park on the water.

We all had a great time and I can't wait for the next vacation, it already seems like it was forever ago.

Time Flies!

Well it's been about a month since my last post, I can't believe where the time goes... I guess it's just because Summer is a busy time of year. I'm still loving my new Jeep! I now have the soft top on and have had a few rides with the top down!
Sam and I went to the spa for her birthday, we went to The Millcroft Inn & Spa. We spent the day there, I had a facial and reflexology, and they were both fantastic! We also had afternoon tea, which was very yummy. We both tried teas we hadn't tried before and let's just say even though they were yummy, it was quite the experience - right Sam! I managed to finish the book I was reading while I was there and now I'm on to the next book. I think we both had a great time and I'm sure we will visit that spa again.
I've spent most of my weekends by the pool at my sister's house, we had a few rainy days, but other than that, it's been great pool weather!
I also have some happy news, my good friend Nadia and her husband Dan just had a baby girl yesterday. Baby Arianna was born July 24th, I'm soooo happy for them and can't wait to meet her! I'll post some pictures when she sends me some, I can see a few layouts already of Arianna. I did make Nadia a scrapbook for her shower, so all she has to do is paste the pictures in the book.
I am also bartending at a wedding today, it should be a good time, Congrats to Matt and Steph on your wedding day.

My New JEEP!!!

Yes, it's my new car!!! Although my old car still looked brand new, my Jeep Liberty was 7 years old. I loved that car, but it was starting to give me problems so I decided it was time to purchase a new vehicle.

After some research, I decided to go with the Jeep Wrangler, Sahara Unlimited. I've always wanted a real Jeep, so I figured why not!

I picked it up on friday and I've had some time to drive around in it, I LOVE IT!

Today I even got to go for a ride with the top off. It's great because the two front panels of the roof come off separately from the back panel. Which means if I want to ride with the top off, it's not a big deal to take the two panels off. I also got the soft top option so I'll have to try that out sometime this summer. Overall, it's a great ride and I'm sure I'll have some fun in it!

Catching up

Well it's been a few weeks since my last post... wow time flies doesn't it

Things have been busy around here, after the girls weekend, I spend the weekend in Buffalo with Sam at the CKC, it was tons of fun!! Then it was a baby shower for my good friend Nadia, she loved the scrapbook I created for her, I'll post some pictures of it after she has her little one and we fill some of the pages! Sam and I also went to the New Kids on the Block concert this weekend, it was good fun, we love reliving Grade 6!!!!

Some sad news to tell you though, my mom's dear friend Gypsy passed away last week, she was a great lady, very talented and creative. We all are going to miss her. We had a little memorial for her at our house yesterday as she didn't have a funeral. The link below is a little show I put together of our day yesterday.

Girl's Weekend!

Last weekend I got to spend the weekend with the Europe ladies! We rented a cottage north of Wiarton, it was beautiful! Weather could have been better, but we all managed to have a good time. It was a bit of a trek up there, but we arrived Friday afternoon, and had a couple drinks... Saturday it was cloudy, and cold, we spent most of the day inside, but managed to get a couple trips to the hot tub in... Sunday was a nice day, but of course we had to leave. We stayed as long as we could and then headed home. We ate like queens (thanks to my sister), watched TV, played a few games and hot tubbed!

Good food, good times, good friends, what more can you ask for!

Spoiled!

That's what my mom was today.. Spoiled!

We had a great Mother's day. It started this morning, when she opened her gift, a Lululemon hoodie, from my brother, my sister and I. Then my sister and I took her for brunch at a nice restaurant, they had everything you could imagine for a Breakfast buffet. I have to say, probably my favourite part was dessert... LOL. After that, we did some spur of the moment shopping. Because we did so much eating at breakfast, we went for our usual 4KM walk. It was cold, but I'm glad we went, worked off a few extra calories I ate at breakfast! And to end her day, we ordered Thai food for dinner, it sure was yummy!

I'm sure you will all agree my mom was definitely spoiled today, but she sure deserves it!

This past weekend Sam and I ventured down to 2SF for the National Scrapbook Day crop. We had a great time as usual. We also celebrated our "friendaversary" with all our scrapbooking friends as we met them on National Scrapbook weekend last year.

I don't have any pictures of the fun we had, but Sam and Lori will pass them on to me I'm sure.

It's been a while...

Since I last posted. I guess I've just been busy, I don't know where the time goes!
This past weekend I went with my sister, Kelly and Mallory to the food show and the Hockey Expo. They were both in the same building which was lucky! We went to the hockey expo mainly because our tour guide from our Europe trip was going to be there. We stopped by Jack's booth and said hello. We ended up chatting with him for quite a while and then he asked us to go for dinner with him. It was a fun night! I also spent some time with Sam on Sunday scrapbooking, although we didn't get a lot accomplished it was still fun!

I'm looking forward to National Scrapbook day this weekend at 2SF! See you all there!

Busy Weekend

It's always nice to have a long weekend, but doesn't it always seem to go by quickly?

Over the weekend I was able to finish two mini albums, they were kits I had ordered online. I love how they turned out and now I just have to find pictures that would be perfect for them. I'm sure I won't have a hard time doing that. I also tried to organize my scrap space but it seems like it's more of a catch all and then I scrap at the dining room table. But that's ok. Once I get a few projects I'm working on out of the way I should be able to scrap in the basement again. One thing I did get done that I've been meaning to for a very long time is put E-Z mount on the back of my stamps. I'm glad I did that because now I can start stamping and playing with my copic markers. If I don't do it soon I'll forget everything I learned at my copic class!

I also spent some time with friends this weekend. On Friday afternoon I went over to my sister's for lunch and we soaked in the rays! On Saturday it was off to the One of a Kind show with Sam and Amanda. I didn't buy anything which is very unusual, but I didn't see anything that really caught my eye. There were a lot of the same vendors there as last spring so I had seen some of the stuff already. Then we managed to do some more shopping.. scrapbook supplies, and clothes and shoes for some of us... We finished off the day with dinner at Red Lobster, kind of a One of a Kind show day tradition. All I have to say is it was DELICIOUS! Thanks for the fun Sam and Amanda!

Hockey Season is over :(

Well it's official, hockey season is over. Last night was the Year End party for the boys. The coach and his wife were gracious enough to open their home to everyone so that we could celebrate the season. It's been quite a ride this season. The season started with lots of fundraising for the Europe trip, then a pre season tournament win in Orangeville. We then travelled to Europe which was a trip of a lifetime for everyone! The boys won 3 out of 5 games and we came home all pumped for the second half of the season and the boys were off to a good start. We may not have ended up high in the standings, but it was still a fun season regardless.

So last night was a tribute to the boys, to say thanks for the memories and thanks for all the fun. As usual I did a slideshow for the boys to keep of the regular season, its a memory for them as for most they are going to play high school next year because there is no Midget team and it was their last year playing together. I also did a scrapbook for each of the boys, I wasn't sure if I was going to get it done in time, but I did, and I think they all liked it.

It was a lot of work, but I do it for the boys, each and every one of those boys on this team has a special place in my heart and I hope they keep in touch.

Have you seen any good movies lately?

I have! It's been a while since I have gone to the movies... I think the last movie I saw at the theatre was This is it, and that was AMAZING!!! On Tuesday my friend Kelly and I decided we were going to go to see Alice in Wonderland. I wasn't sure what to expect as I don't think I've ever seen a whole movie in 3D before. I had people warning me that I might feel sick because of the effect etc, but I was fine, didn't feel sick at all! So after a "family dinner" at the curling club, Kelly and I headed over to the movie. It was pretty crowded at the theatre and I thought we weren't going to get in, but we did manage to get tickets and pretty good seats too. Now that I have seen Alice in Wonderland in 3D I can't imagine seeing it not in 3D. Also, last night I watched The Blind Side with Mom and Dad, what a great movie! So two good movies in two nights, now that's amazing!!!

This will be my last reveal with Sketchabilities as Karan will be announcing a new team soon. I had such a great time creating layouts with all of Karan's sketches. I hope to be on the team again soon. But it's time for others to have a turn.

For this layout I couldn't resist using the Material Girl papers. I thought they would be perfect to use for a picture that I had of my mom sewing. She spends her days in that room and is always making something! So, we managed to find a picture of me with my Big Bird that my mom made when I was little. I carried him around everywhere. He sure got loved! The picture was perfect to use, and my mom even managed to find the pattern, so I snapped a picture of that, and some of her tools that she uses.

So it's been a week since we have arrived home and I just can't resist to post some more pictures of our fabulous trip! We all want to go back, I miss my Europe friends!

I'm Home!

What can I say... except we had an AMAZING time! This is one trip I will never forget. I made lots of new friends, some I'm sure will stay for a while, some may go. What's the saying... some people come into your life for a season, a reason or a lifetime. I'm hoping all of my new friends will be lifetime friends.
We did lots of sight seeing, lots of traveling on the bus and needless to say lots of partying!!

In Germany we saw the Heidelberg castle, Switzerland we drove right by the alps and through the longest tunnel in Europe (which was right through the mountains) and in Rome, of course we went to the Vatican and the Coliseum.

We spent New Years in Como, Italy, it was one big street party, this is one new years I will never forget!

The boys also had a great time, they won 3 out of the 5 games. They did a great job!

Needless to say, there are lots of memories and tons of stories... I'm pretty that this was a trip of a lifetime, I know it was for me ;)

It's Almost Here!

Well Christmas is almost here! Can you feel it? I sure can!

It's been a busy month, but I'm looking forward to Christmas and then going away! I'll be going to Europe for 10 fun filled days with my sister and nephew, for a hockey tournament. We will see lots and I'll be sure to take many pictures along the way!

This past weekend I enjoyed a little treat, A couple of my friends and I have made a new Christmas tradition, instead of buying gifts for each other we have decided to go to the spa and treat ourselves, and destress before the holiday season. Yesterday we went to St Anne's spa in Grafton. It was amazing, it was my second time there and it was just as fabulous as the first time! I'm looking forward to going back and looking forward to continuing our new Christmas tradition for many years to come!

Last weekend my mom and I put up our Christmas tree! We always put it up together. Well, dad puts the tree up, and Mom and I decorate it. It's fun to go through the ornament box and pick out all the ornaments. There are some that we bought, some that were gifts and some that we made. I think putting the tree up is one of my favourite Christmas traditions.

Today is my mom's birthday! She was very happy with her gift that my sister, brother and dad bought her. We got her a new 64gb ipod touch. She's been asking for one for months and months, and even almost bought one on her own. She was very surprised this morning when she opened it, I don't think she expected to get one. All her songs are loaded on it, with my help - lol. Now she just has to learn how to use it...

2SF Fall Retreat

Last weekend I was joined by 139 other scrapbookers at the Two Scrapbook Friends Fall Retreat. What a wonderful time! Sam and I started out the weekend right, we took the friday off work so we could take our time getting to the Oakwood Inn in Grand Bend. I picked Sam up in the morning and we arrived around 1pm, that's after our little driving adventure! But really, that's nothing new! We started off the weekend with a Hot Stone massages, and then we went to check in. We were excited to see what type of room we would get and what building we were in. Then, the lady at the front desk says to us "must be luck of the draw, you guys got a cottage." At first, it didn't really sink in, then we pulled up and went inside, wow! it was amazing! We were so shocked and happy and couldn't believe how lucky we were.

We spent the rest of the weekend scrapbooking at our table and making new friends. Our table even won the "pumkin challenge", it was lots of fun.

This was our first Two Scrapbook Friends retreat and I'm sure this was the first of many to come!

Well I can't believe it's been a month since my last post. It's been a busy month! The month started off kinda quiet but, I don't know where it went. My sister was in a bad car accident on Thanksgiving weekend, so we had a lot to be thankful for that weekend. She's ok, her car was totalled and she's on the mend, going to physio and taking it day by day. After that, we had a fundraising dance for my nephew's hockey team, The Bulldogs, at the Lions Club. Fun was had by all, The Dirt Dogs were great at usual (I even was the tambourine player by the end of the night!) and we even made some money to go towards the Europe Trip in December. It's coming up fast and we still have a little ways to go with Fundraising. The week after the fundraiser I got sick with strep throat, I was supposed to be joining my friends Samantha and Karan at Memories Manor in Michigan on the weekend of the 23rd but had to back out because I was just too sick to go. I also didn't want to get them sick or anyone else at the manor for that matter. Then, just last week my niece got very sick with the flu, she's ok now, but my sister managed to get it from her. She's doing ok, resting in bed with lots of fluids.
In the meantime, I finished my photography course and learned a lot, I'm really glad I decided to take it. I also completed another layout for the October reveal of Sketchabilites. I wasn't too sure about the layout at first, but really liked how it turned out, thanks Karan for a wonderful sketch. Please go over to Sketchabilites and check out all the wonderful layouts for the month of October, all the ladies did a great job on both Team A and Team B. I'm looking forward to completing November's sketch!

Photography Course

I decided that it was time for me to learn a few things about my DSLR and stop taking pictures in automatic mode. I signed up for the Oh Shoot! class at Jessica Sprague. It's week 3 and I have already learned lots! The class is online so I can do it when I want within the week. It's a six week course and can't wait to see what we will be doing next! Well, they are the Champions... last weekend I spend my time in Orangeville with my nephew and his hockey team - The Burlington Midget MD Bulldogs. They played 5 games in 3 days and brought home the gold! Congrats boys on a well deserved win!

I have no idea where the last week has gone! So here is a little run down of what I have been upto. I decided to sign up for the Oh Shoot! class at Jessica Sprague.com. So I got my first lesson yesterday and excited to get my homework complete tonight at the hockey game. I also went to the hockey team's dryland training so I could get some pictures. Then I finished off the week with a pedicure! What a great way to do end the week! Over the weekend I helped out at a Hockey Fundraiser that we had outside the grocery store on Saturday and Sunday. Monday consisted of mostly relaxing which was nice! I didn't have any time to do any scrapbooking, but I will be sure to make some time this weekend, my scrap table is calling my name!

Double the Fun!

Well I don't know where the weekend went... it always seems to go by so fast doesn't it?

I had a fun filled weekend, which started off with a crop at Karan's house, Sam, Kelly, Karan and I laughed, we ate and I actually got an acrylic mini album kit completed! It was a great time, and Sam and I stayed at Karan's so we wouldn't have to drive all the way home that night. Thanks Karan for a good time. On Saturday we all headed to 2SF for the Double the Fun all day class Karan was teaching. I don't know what happnens when I scrapbook, but the time always goes so fast, before I knew it the day was over and it was time to go home. I did manage to finish both layouts, complete with pictures - that means no homework! The "Moments like these" layout are pictures of my parents at their wedding and when they were dating. We had to sew the bottom piece on with the sewing machine, I was a little hesitant at first, but it wasn't hard to do, so there was nothing to be worried about. The "So Grown Up" layout is pictures of me when I was younger. We did a lot of blending on this layout... Keep blending! I think they both turned out fabulous! Thanks again Karan for another great class.
After the class, it was off to the Bulldogs Twisting by the Pool Bash! The rain held off so we were thankful for that. We had a good time, thanks to all my fabulous friends for coming out.

So that's the weekend, I managed to have double the fun maybe even triple!!!
